Nd striations indicated) H hind leg.Antennae quick (av. length 0.59; ratio
1.67); distal proboscis segment Title Loaded From File moderately Title Loaded From File lengthy (av. two.80); short to minute setae on vertex and thorax; distal proboscis segment moderately extended (av. length 0.11); hind tibia slender, and longer than head width (ratio HW:HT av. 0.87) (Fig. 10B ). Female terminalia (Fig. 10F): proctiger dorsal surface a lot more or much less straight, longer than subgenital plate (ratio FP:FSP av. 1.15), apex acute, anal ring moderately lengthy (ratio FP:RL av. 3.50); subgenital plate with slight medial bulge ventrally, apex acute; ovipositor apex with lowered serrations (.Nd striations indicated) H hind leg.Antennae short (av. length 0.59; ratio AL:HW av. 1.15); genal processes quick and bluntly rounded (ratio VL:GP av. five.42); short setae on vertex, minute on thorax; vertex comparatively wide (ratio HW:VW av. 1.67); distal proboscis segment moderately lengthy (av. length 0.ten); hind tibia slender, shorter than head width (ratio HW:HT av. 1.08) (Fig. 9B , E, H). Female terminalia (Fig. 9F): proctiger dorsal surface more or significantly less straight, longer than subgenital plate (ratio FP:FSP av. 1.35), apex acute, anal ring moderately lengthy (ratio FP:RL av. 3.51); subgenital plate with no or slight medial bulge ventrally, apex acute; ovipositor apex with no or decreased serrations (2 above and under), valvulae dorsalis not strongly convex dorsally. Egg. Unpigmented or light brown, narrow, slender, whole surface with narrowly spaced uninterrupted striations no visible pedicel, tail quick (Fig. 9G). Immature. Unknown. Host plant notes. Collected from semi-glabrous morphotype developing on lava flow (dated to 1880s) in south western Hawaii. Island. Hawaii. Distribution notes. Identified from only 1 locality.Diana M. Percy / ZooKeys 649: 1?63 (2017)Biology. Unknown, but may well be free-living as for P. nigricapitus and P. proboscideus. Etymology. In reference for the dark dorsal stripe that may be frequently present in this species and signifies affiliation with all the bicoloratus group (adjective in the nominative singular). Comments. At present recognized only from females; females appear especially related to P. lona from Molokai, however DNA evaluation does not even location these two taxa inside the similar subgroup in the bicoloratus group, and this exemplifies the want for additional efforts to sample species diversity a lot more entirely. Variety material. Holotype female (slide mounted, BMNH). See Table two for details of kind as well as other material examined for this study. Pariaconus kapo Percy, sp. n. http://zoobank.org/C44CE816-AD40-4189-9064-7F1CDE2BA235 Figure 10 Adult colour. Common physique colour yellow to brown. Head darker than the rest of your body, apparently not distinctly bicoloured (e.g. with no distinct dorsal stripe). Fore wing membrane clear, or slightly fuscous. Adult structure. Fore wing apex rounded; surface spinules dispersed in all cells but lowered or none in r1 and c+sc; setae on margins and veins quick to minute (Fig. 10A). Antennae moderately long (av. length 0.94; ratio AL:HW av. 1.61); genal processes atypically nicely developed and bluntly rounded (ratio VL:GP av. 2.80); brief to minute setae on vertex and thorax; distal proboscis segment moderately extended (av. length 0.11); hind tibia slender, and longer than head width (ratio HW:HT av. 0.87) (Fig. 10B ).
